Jetty Sedyawan,is a cardiologist in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a strong advocate of education for a healthy heart. She promotes the heart disease prevention beginning at the young age , the reason why as a cardiologist Jetty chaired the Jakarta Healthy Life Youth Camp 2004 in Cibubur, Jakarta, accommodates 500 students from all Jakarta high schools. Dr Jetty contributes her 20 years in Indonesia Heart Foundation, formerly, she was a chairman of Information and Public Education division, she wrote some articles and journals focused on cardiac risk factors , women heart, and cardiovascular emergency issues, and invited as speaker in national and international meetings and seminars.

Her office in the most famous private hospital in Jakarta, has a fully equipped vascular machines to perform Doppler examinations of the Carotid arteries; Duplex scans of the abdominal aorta, lower extreminity arteries and veins as well as transthoracic echocardiography. Thus enables her patients to actually see what damage is occuring to their hearts and vascular system because of smoking, hypertension and high cholesterol. The Angiography and the Cardiology intervention are also performed collaborated with Prof T Santoso and Prof Hanafi Trisnohadi in Medistra hospital team . Since Jetty is concerned about women health, she provides a women’s health clinic as a cardiovascular consultant in the Obstetry and Gynaecology Department, dr Ciptomangunkusumo hospital, Medical Faculty University of Indonesia and works in Hermina, Mother and Children hospital, Jakarta. Dr Jetty takes care of pregnancy women with heart disease, hypertension and menopause women.

A graduate of Medical Faculty of University of Indonesia, Jetty has been in 30-year practice as a doctor. She holds the teaching in Medical Faculty University of Indonesia, gets involved, travelling to entire Indonesia as a lecturer and instructor in General Emergency Life Support (GELS) , organized by Health Department of Indonesia. Jetty founded and developed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) in Indonesia until now performed by Indonesia Heart Association. Formerly Jetty chaired the Emergency Commision of Indonesia Heart Association. Teaching and holding trainings have been her hobbies since she has graduated as a cardiologist. She conducts emergency in house training for the doctors and nurses in hospitals, including ACLS-ALS, ECG and manage the obstetry emergency course in Nagan Raya, Aceh, NAD.. Regularly, Jetty contributes herself in Ambulans 118 in some trainings and coachings for paramedics and physicians in Jakarta and some other cities . Some NGO has appointed Jetty as the Coordinator of Medical Emergency Education in Nagan Raya, Aceh (NAD) since 2008 up to now.

Jetty earned her degree in Cardiovascular Disease in 1989. In 1991, dr Jetty had been trained in Echocardiography , supervised by Prof Kelly and in Cathether lab, under supervision by Prof Roy and Prof David Baron in St Vincent’s Hospital, New South Wales University, Sydney Australia. She was happy since Prof Tajik, cardiologist from USA, a father of echocardiography allowed her joined the echocardiography training in Haemodynamic and Image laboratorium in Mayo Clinic Rochester, USA in 1997.

Jetty is a fellow of the Asian Pacific Critical Care Medicine (APCCM), the chairman of Jakarta Critical Care Medicine and hold the Training and Education department of Indonesia Critical Care Medicine Association . She is also a board member of Indonesia Menopause Association, Indonesia Resuscitation Council, a member of the Indonesia Heart Association and Indonesia Medical Association.
